Stay at the Ancient Ruins Located at the eastern edge of the village, the Yaxuna Campamento guesthouses are only a step away from the ruins ( an ancient housemound borders the edge of the kitchen building.) The Central Acropolis is just a ten minute walk from your room.

A visit to Yaxuna gives a glimpse into the folkways of both ancient and contemporary Maya culture. The village hosts artisans who practice textile arts and wood sculpture.

Once the field camp of the Yaxuna Archaeology Project, the traditional Maya houses of the archaeologists have been renovated to house discriminating travellers who wish to experience the true and unvarnished landscape of the Maya.
